三聚氰胺の惡夢

根據美國食物及藥物管理局的標準，三聚氰胺的安全參考值（即每日可容忍攝入量）為每日每公斤體重0.63毫克。由於三十六個月以下嬰幼兒對「三聚氰胺」較為敏感，其每日可容忍攝入量則訂為每日每公斤體重0.32毫克。

只要長期平均的攝入量不超出安全參考值，偶爾超出這個參考值並不會影響健康。

就被檢出含百萬分之3.2的馬拉糕樣本，如一個10公斤（約三歲）的幼童每天食用約1公斤（假設每件淨重約126克，即約8件）有關馬拉糕，或一個體重60公斤的成年人每天食用約11.8公斤（假設每件淨重約126克，即約94件）該產品，其「三聚氰胺」攝入量可達每日可容忍攝入量。

食物安全中心預計明日會取得檢測結果的產品包括奶及奶類飲品、蛋糕、餅乾、芝士、朱古力及忌廉。

Is anyone really going to eat 94 pieces of 馬拉糕 a day? Or under any normal circumstances, would any parents let a 3 year old child eat 8 pieces of 馬拉糕 a day?

These reports creates nothing but chaos and panic in our everyday lives. Can't they give us more relevant information, instead of warning us about not eating 94 pieces of 馬拉糕 to potential harm our kidneys?

Seems like the Hong Kong government is only trying to fulfill the responsibility of providing the information, so that they won't have to be blamed again next time. It reflects the government is totally lack of management skills 101 --- to say the right thing at the right time, to give the people a sense of assurance and stability.

The next thing we hear is, everyone in the dim sum restaurant telling everyone else they heard 馬拉糕 is POISONED!!! And even anything with milk product in it, 奶皇包, 蛋撻, etc.

Last night's Passion Worship was a soul awakening experience for a lot of us (and jaw dropping too). It was definitely not just for teenagers, it was a worship experience that moved all ages!!!

10000 voices worshipping, dancing, praying together shouting Jesus is King, singing Amazing Grace, it was such a wonderful sound!!!! (I wish I can jump up and down like the others do!!!! >.<)

The speaker of the night asked us, why we would be reserved in responding to God's grace? We (esp. adults and esp. the analytical ones) would always like to keep our cool, but in that same GM place, exactly that same arena, when the Canucks scores, ALL GENERATIONS MEN AND WOMEN would jump off their seats and shout and cheer at the same time.

Shouldn't God's grace be more powerful than that little puck going into the net?

It totally reminds me, our usual Sunday worship and our usual life is like luke warm water, just getting by every week, but we were like being put into boiling water last night, God can be this HOT and this great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O-M-G!!!

Just want to share with you the opening of the night, this is the power of the spirit, without anyone saying anything, just PowerPoint, words, and music (live music BTW) tears were already falling on my cheeks, before anyone appeared on stage, cuz I know God is here, in our generation, in our city.

Never imagined PowerPoint can be this powerful and moving!!!!

Never imagined the same 8 bars of music can be played repeatedly and can be this glorious!!!

Of course it's unreal to expect this magnitude of worship every week at our local churches (just like mom's boring but nutritious meal can't be compared to all-you-can-eat), but our God is this powerful, we have to remember that! ^^

What a powerful God and a powerful Spirit and a glorious Jesus we saw last night.

And what a reflection of how we should treat our worship every Sunday (esp. us praise team and praise band ^^), God's spirit can be this powerful.

What a reflection of how we should live our lives everyday, this generation and our city can be this precious in God's eyes.

It was the same powerful God that we're worshipping, God can move mountains and shake the grounds, and after all, He can move people!

幸福非必然

It was a day of joy for our family, one of our youngest cousin got married today. There were a lot of touching moments during the wedding, but the sharing of the bride and groom brought us all to tears (even my dad!!!)

The groom is the youngest among us cousins, and he is the only boy. Therefore he is also the most spoiled one (heheee...)!!! But today, hearing him said that he was thankful for his parents' support, melted all our hearts.

I'm sure in our parents' heart, they're proud to see finally all of us grew up into fine, responsible and loving man and women. Now that we have established our own families and moved into a whole new chapter in live, we learnt to appreciate their effort as parents a lot more.

I totally agreed with KK and Vicky: 幸福非必然, and we are very blessed to have very supportive and loving parents, who let us do and try whatever pleases our hearts. They always trust us and give us freedom to decide our destiny, and always provide us the best in physically need and in spiritual support. They never say no to things that we asked for, and they even provide things that we haven't asked.

We are all spoiled princesses and prince.

I'm sure for all of our parents, it just feels like yesterday when they took us to swimming in CUHK, or skating lessons in Railey Park, or taught us how to bike in the back alley of the Wong's, or threw kids birthday parties at each others' homes, or watched CNY fireworks at grandma/grandpa's million dollar view 7th floor "oak chuen" twin-unit. We thank you for giving us all of the beautiful memories in our childhood, and we are grateful to be your daughters and sons.

Dad, mom, porpor, yeema, yeeyee, yeejeung, goojei, goojeung, (and gonggong, mahmah, yehyeh in heaven)...

An Apology and Closure

Regardless if this is written by him or his lawyer, at least his attitude shows he is more sincere than「我承認以前係好天真同好傻，但係現在己經長大了」 Hope Edison's apology would bring an end to this madness lately, and hope him and the others involved will have a new beginning from now on. It would be wonderful if he can use his life and previous mistakes to share with and teach other young people. This whole "strange ordeal" is such a lose-lose situation, no one wins except Satan, sigh!!! Pray for all of them to be touched and used by God one way or another...

陳冠希：永遠退出娛樂圈 (明報)

藝人裸照事件主角陳冠希，承諾永久退出香港娛樂圈，他發言時十多次說「對不起」，懇求大家給他一個機會。陳冠希在記者會中宣讀聲明時，承認網上流傳的藝人裸照，是他拍攝的，他從沒有逃避責任，但他強調，照片是私人的，他從沒有打算公開展示這批照片，又說照片是有人在未經他允許下，非法取得。

陳冠希在發言中不下十數次向事件中的受害女性，她們的家人、自己的父母、朋友，香港的青少年人，以及全香港人道歉，並說自己是很誠懇、出自內心的道歉。

他說，自己作出一個重要的決定，就是完成手上的工作後，將永久退出香港的娛樂圈，未來數月，他將從事慈善工作。

他又說，青少年會模倣偶像，但自己是一個失敗的偶像，不能成為榜樣，自己汲取了教訓，也希望青少年從事件中汲取教訓。

他又說，從第一天開始，自己就有協助警方追查案件，以後亦會這樣做，他希望，事件可以盡快完結。目前首要的事，就是阻止照片再流傳，他已要求自己的律師採取法律行動，阻止照片再流傳，以保護無辜受害的人。

陳冠希最後再次說，希望得到大家寬恕。說到這裏，他似是難以繼續說下去，雙目亦開始微紅。稍停之後，他就再次說，希望大家接受他的道歉，給他一個機會。

陳冠希今天穿著整齊的西裝襯衣，頭髮梳理整齊，但不像平日般型格，他的表情沉著，語調盡量表現得誠懇。由於記者會不設答問環節，他發言後隨即離開。

Who are we to judge others?

I read the following on the news today, I think our world is so ridiculous and our perception is just so twisted!!!

A few years ago, I still remember people were over reacting and phoning the Boardcasting Review Agency to complain when Joyce Cheng was performing as "Snow White", and all of a sudden, people's view changed 180 degrees??

Not that I have any bias towards Joyce. Personally I admire her discipline and perseverance to loose so much weight in the past few years. I know it's not easy and it takes a lot of effort (at least I can't do it!!) I never feel there was anything wrong with her and her performance. She was just an ordinary girl, brought up in a single mom family, in Vancouver. Nothing wrong, and nothing out of the ordinary (except she has a mom who is a celebrity).

So who are we to judge if she is "成功洗底" or not???? These articles are just twisting our values, who are we to say she was not good enough before, and all of a sudden is good enough now?

These are articles on the news, and it totally shows how shallow the writers are. It shows how they use their pens to blow up and emotionalize simple things in people lives.

If this is all our next generation's gonna read and learn, what would our future be like? Shallow and judgmental??? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!

If I can voice out my two cents, all I want to say is, people, just be yourself and live your dreams. We are not worthy only when people say we are, we are worthy because we were created by the almighty God and bought by a high price on the cross.

堅強面對喪母痛贏民心欣宜獲網友力撐入樂壇
欣宜月內痛失母親及外婆兩位至親，她昨日在記者會上談及肥姐時一度泣不成聲，場面令人心酸。不過，年紀輕輕的欣宜繼承了母親的堅強性格，矢言會爭氣，努力學做一個有承擔的女人。

【明報專訊】香港最值得一提的spin doctor，當然不是劉細良，又或者何安達，而是英皇娛樂王牌經理人──Mani霍汶希。

朋友劉細良在未加入政府之前，曾經與筆者在《明報》一起撰寫這個專欄，其中一篇令我印象最深刻的，就是談到：在香港，spin的文化，最成行成市的，並不是本地政壇，反而是娛樂圈；最值得參考的spin doctor心得，不是什麼心戰室實錄，而是英皇娛樂王牌經理人Mani霍汶希的手記。

「每天具體執行spin功能的人士，最專業的是一幫娛星經理人，當藝人醉酒打人或被狗仔隊伏擊，甚或拍得與北方佳麗上房過夜照片時，他們便要與『乜周物周』的娛樂總編『拆』，提出交換條件，希望影響編輯手下留情，平時飲茶灌水免費晚餐演唱會『飛』少不了，所以大家周不時見到一些明星無端端上封面，而且係正面報道，就知道是幕後spin doctor發功了。」

我想兩年多之後的今天，如果細良有機會再重寫同一篇文時，他一定會加上這個新的素材──周一阿嬌的記者會。

機關算盡的發言和記者會

短短分半鐘的記者會，140多字，機關算盡的發言，滴水不進，我敢打賭，當中一定有很多公關和法律顧問的意見。

不是嗎﹖事件的對錯，以「我承認以前係好天真同好傻，但係現在己經長大了」短短兩句說話，輕描淡寫的帶過，相片的真偽，完全不再提及，要迴避的，當然是其公司英皇集團當初「移花接木」的指控，及可能的法律責任，而「天真」和「傻」兩個形容詞，更與Twins 一貫苦心經營純情、可愛形象，配合得天衣無縫。

霍汶希更聲明，英皇所有藝人將永遠就事件封口，不會再評論事件，美其名為免事件擴大，令藝人受到傷害；而阿嬌的發言不長於分半鐘，不設記者發問，這都可確保新聞報道時，可以讓「官方」苦心設定的版本，原原本本出街，避免讓傳媒斷章取義。

阿嬌發言前，歌迷送上一個寫上：「一定繼續撐孖女，We Support Twins Forever」的蛋糕；發言時，又有秩序地排在後方高舉「一定永遠支持Twins」的燈牌；發言後，又大叫「支持你」、「支持你」……的口號。這簡直是一個經過精心策劃的電視畫面。有報章暗示，歌迷由公司一手包辦。

Timing也是一絕，記者會的明日，剛巧就是老闆新股上市的日子，恰好趕得及「拆彈」。
對錯、教訓，都被spin一一掩蓋。

但問題正正是，愈把問題這樣輕描淡寫的帶過，就愈把對錯、責任、教訓等重要問題，一一掩蓋，令社會把學費白交了。

我並不是一個性觀念保守的人，兩個人，關了門，如何男歡女愛，本來不需要旁人指手劃腳。但問題是，今次牽涉的都是公眾人物，是被公司、傳媒、電台（包括港台），甚至政府部門，力捧的年輕人偶像，對後生仔有重大的示範作用。當這些藝人義不容辭的走去當什麼「滅罪、禁毒、太陽計劃……之星」時，在讓自己增添人氣，接受群眾和鎂光燈簇擁之外，他們有否想過自己一言一行的社會責任呢﹖如果阿嬌只是一個寂寂無聞的尋常普通人，不是公眾人物，我們就有更多的理由，對她更加包容。

又或者，如果她是未夠18歲的「後生女」，我們也有更多的理由，對她更加寬容；但一個成年人，一個27歲的成年人，就不能單單以一句「天真和傻」，來迴避對錯，迴避責任。

我想大家的要求十分簡單，闖禍不是世界末日，沒有人要求從此要讓你永不翻身，但最起碼，不能文過飾非，對錯、責任、教訓等問題，要有一個交代。
事件中，有什麼對錯﹖

上月27日，即事件爆發的首天，英皇集團曾公開聲稱相片是遭「移花接木」，並就事件報警，究竟當中是否有人「報假案」、誤導警方、誤導公眾﹖

事件中，有什麼公眾意義﹖

在性觀念開放、Snapshot、後生女對自己身體警戒心日減的今天，阿嬌是否應該講清楚事件對自己所造成的切膚之痛，以及從中汲取到的教訓﹖

這些都不是純粹供大家茶餘飯後「八卦」，而是關乎到下一代成長的重大話題，但是今天在spin的考慮，spin的文化下，都被一一放過。

或許你會指摘我以一個男性霸權的角度來看整件事，那麼我介紹大家看看徐詠璇，周三在《信報》其專欄所寫的文章：

「阿嬌以『天真』和『傻』這些純情、可愛的字眼，將事件輕輕帶過。是她真的不覺得拍這些四級照片有何不妥？抑或是她旁邊的人拍拍心口，告訴她一切等閒？……令人失望的，是阿嬌有太多人包庇照顧，令她也繼續沉溺在虛偽、荒淫、跟紅頂白的最劣的娛樂圈染缸裏。這次過了關，厚臉皮，博大家忘記，久而不聞其臭，還贏得個『勇敢』面對人生的稱號。背誦了這一大篇話之後，她可能長大了，只是，不見得變好了。」

在性觀念開放、Snapshot、後生女對自己身體警戒心日減的今天，我想徐詠璇正正道出很多母親心中對女兒的擔憂。

以前娛樂圈提到化妝師，人們只會想起「輝哥」（陳文輝）；今天提起化妝師，大家恐怕想起的，卻是Mani。而比起前者，後者為藝人化的妝，或許更加巧奪天工；化妝前後，更加判若兩人。

（17）私下拍攝親熱照不應與盜取他人親熱照公開發布相提並論，不等於不拍親熱照就不會被公開的歪理可以合理化；
（18）選擇性執法只是不公平，不等於非法行為就是合法。

She sounded so "easy" and didn't take her act seriously..."tin jaan and shor"?????????? So that's called apology ga la??? OMG!!!

Comparing to Edison's video...people say he is "coward" and "weak"...but at least he looks a lot more serious and stressed...

I don't understand why people all support the girls and is attacking Edison...not that I like him nor I think what he did was right...and frankly I've seen some of those pics...unless the girls were drugged...otherwise I think they all know what they were doing...just that they never expect it will be publicize...why is the girl "more cham" and the guy "dai say" ne????? Everyone's nude picture got posted...why only the girl is "cham" ne??? What kind of standard is that? A guy being nude is "okay"...and gal being nude is "seed dai"???? They were not forced and raped...don't they all enjoy what they were doing???

All of them did the same level of sin/wrong, and all of the are all very "cham" cuz they don't know what they're doing is right or wrong and they all got nude pics all over the world.

Time flies, 蘇菲家姐 is already 1.5 years old lar, she is a lot bigger now, and can barely fit on top of the printer, but she is still curious like a little kid, esp. towards the computer equipments and cameras!!! Maybe she can have a career in IT one day???

And 蘇菲家姐 also enjoys peeking over 小貓媽Mee's laptop and sitting on top of the printer while 小貓媽Mee works late at night.

But thanks 蘇菲家姐 for keeping 小貓媽Mee company, although sometimes 蘇菲家姐 would doze off while waiting.

New Noodle Place in Parker Place

Cream puffs that are worth lining up for...

小蟲與小貓 walked by the Aberdeen Centre today...which was a weekday afternoon...and we noticed people lining up for "cream puffs...

A friend told us they are very famous...originated from Tokyo...and also have a store in Hawaii...

We have been to both Tokyo and Hawaii but have never noticed these cream puffs...so we took a closer look and they looks really luscious and yummy...and we started lining up with the crowd as well...

We waited...and waited...and waited...and waited...standing in line for over 45 min...and after 3 batches of freshly baked cream puffs...finally we got our own dozen of these sweet treats!!!

Crunchy shell...velvety and smooth cream inside...little bit sweet but not too sweet...full of the taste of fresh eggs and vanilla...we can even see the vanilla beans inside the cream!!!

Ohhhhhh...I gotta go back line up for some more next time!!!!! ^.~

And for all overseas family and friends who phoned and e-mailed us yesterday, thanks and we're fine! And dad is fine too! The damaged building is very close to us, just a few blocks away, but not ours and we're all okay.

I was at client's in downtown yesterday when someone in that office screamed "Oh my God, Cooney & Saba, that's exactly where I live!!!!" That was the breaking news on a peaceful & rainy Friday afternoon. The office manager let that person leave the office right away to go home, end up she phoned after she got home, it was the building right beside hers, and her home was okay.

But think about it this way, who knows when or where it will happen? It can happen to anyone anytime, and are we prepared for such disaster to happen anytime? What about even bigger disaster? What about when an earthquake comes?

For all of us who are living like "God is on vacation!" What else need to happen before we really see the urgency?

Who would ever thought a plane could hit an apartment building in Richmond? In a highly dense residential area?? No way, anywhere BUT Richmond!!! But yup, it can happen. Just like people used to say, "No way, anywhere BUT New York!" "Anywhere BUT the Twin Tower!" "And anything BUT the Titanic!!!"

That's human. I wonder what our Lord would think when He heard those boasting words or ours?? Imagine a little kid boasting, "No way, not MY Lego, everything BUT my Lego tower!" What would we think??? =)

Mmmm, also, it was the north side of the building and the 9th floor that got hit; my dad lives just a few blocks away, also on the north face of the building, and on 8th floor. What would I be like if it's really their home? How would I be?

And what would the pilot be thinking before the plane crashed? Reporter said he was revolving on the sky of Richmond for quite some time trying to use up more fuel, but then why he doesn't choose to land on the big piece of grass on the corner of Westminster/Alderbridge/No.4/Gardencity???? Not sure, but I'm sure if the pilot is experienced enough to think of revolving in order to reduce the damage while in an emergency, this would already be the best of what he can do.

But again, it's like it can happen anywhere, anytime, to anyone. Are we ready? How would we react if it's really our home?

小蟲與小貓 went to Victoria on Thanksgiving Day to see the Titanic Exhibition in the Royal BC Museum, more pics and sharing to come later.

An interesting comment 小蟲 made, "Probably 小貓 was someone from the last century, and for some reason, landed in 20th century by mistake." It is very true indeed, that 小貓 is totally fascinated by the glamorous days of the Edwardian/Victorian era. Everything was so elegant and full of history, the fashion, the architecture, every single detail was so fascinating!!

This is the reason why 小貓 loves London, and the old buildings of New York & Boston, Victoria, Gas Town, and the Titanic, they all reflect the elegance, romance and dignity of that era.

On our way home from the Victoria trip, we saw this BIG sign, "Hudson Living". They are turning the old Hudson Bay department store in uptown Victoria into a condo!!!! What a dream come true for 小貓.

Mmmmm, but actually, if 小貓 can dream up any combination for her dream home, it would be...

A renovated heritage building, with unobstructed ocean view, and a big kitchen. Hahahaaa, wouldn't it be nice???!!!!

It's because 小蟲與小貓 have started "kyoushitsu no nihongo" (Japanese classes) this week. We've always wanted to pursue an interest together, so that we can PT while learning new things, and also see who's smarter (hahaaaa...)

We are taking this Level 1 course thru VSB, for all of you who has never taken any Vancouver School Board Continue Education courses, we highly recommend you to try. There are lots and lots of courses of every interests (make up, photography, language, floristry, cooking, baking, musical instruments, yoga, etc. etc.) All courses are 100% tax deductible (ya...us accountants...) and at very reasonable prices (in our case...$99 per person for 8 weeks' lessons)...

The classes are being held at the Killarney Highschool...it's really funny cuz it feels like 小蟲與小貓 are back in our highschool time...sitting in those very similar classrooms...but of course...for some reason the desks feel a lot smaller and tighter now...oops...

Just after the 1st lesson last night...we are already able to introduce ourselves by name and by nationality...also learning to say something is mine or yours...and quite a few vocabs too!!

So ya...hopefully both 小蟲與小貓 can enjoy learning Japanese...at least...next year when we really go to Hokkaido...we'll be less "lair hair" and be able to read the signs and menus and ask questions...

Twenty-five years ago, Carnegie Mellon University professor Scott Fahlman says, he was the first to use three keystrokes - a colon followed by a hyphen and a parenthesis - as a horizontal "smiley face" in a computer message.

To mark the anniversary today, Fahlman and his colleagues are starting an annual student contest for innovation in technology-assisted, person-to-person communication. The Smiley Award, sponsored by Yahoo, carries a US$500 (HK$3,900) cash prize.

Language experts say the smiley face and other emotional icons, known as emoticons, have given people a concise way in e-mail and other electronic messages of expressing sentiments that otherwise would be difficult to detect.

Fahlman posted the emoticon in a message to an online electronic bulletin board at 11.44am on September 19, 1982, during a discussion about the limits of online humor and how to denote comments meant to be taken lightly.

"I propose the following character sequence for joke markers: :-)," wrote Fahlman. "Read it sideways."

The suggestion gave computer users a way to convey humor or positive feelings with a smile - or the opposite sentiments by reversing the parenthesis to form a frown.

Variations, such as the "wink" that uses a semicolon, emerged later. Instant messaging programs often contain an array of faces intended to express emotions ranging from surprise to affection to embarrassment.

As you might have noticed, lately I've been typing mostly in English. It was becoz I got a new laptop at home (a cute & pink one!!!) but it runs Windows Vista.

I hate to be a whiner, but this Vista is really causing me lots of frustration!!! It crashes often, and what's worse, it is not compatible with many of existing hardware; one being the "Writing Pad" that I used to write Chinese!!!!

I've done many research online, to make the long story short, the easiest way is to get a new writing pad that is compatible, what a rip off!!!! =.="

For all of you who knows more about Microsoft products and Windows, can you help??

Producers for a fresh TV quiz show were in Vancouver yesterday searching for energetic, clever, articulate and fun kids. They found Noa Gurvis.

The nine-year-old was one of 150 area children to audition for "Are You Smarter Than A Canadian Fifth Grader", debuting this fall.

For Gurvis, the game show's a chance to flex her intellectual muscle proving there isn't a subject that stumps her.

"I like spelling, geography and science," she says before quickly adding, "social studies and languages, a lot!"

Casting producer Aviva Frenkel says kids like Noa make her cross-country trek to find five final talents a joy.

"You get to meet really fantastic kids, who have a wide range of interests and are willing to share and help adults," she says.

Once on the air, the five fifth graders will act as lifelines to help adults with elementary level questions, like "Is skin an organ?" with the 10th correct answer netting $1 million.

Noa knows the answer but doesn't mind sharing.
When it comes to helping out she says, "I think it feels really awesome."

Allergy Test

小貓 went for an allergy test this past week...to see what exactly is it that she was allergic to...

End up...the allergic cause is mainly "grass"...not "grass" itself...but the "grass season"...that means from March to September every year...小貓's body became really allergic...and it reacts to anything and not just grass...no matter it's dust...cat hair...paper...and even just change in temperature (indoor vs. outdoor)...anything and everything can cause her to sneeze and have stuffy nose and fever and itchy eyes and itchy throat...OMG!!!!!

So what's next?? Bad news...for a better hope of curing the allergy once and for all...the is no better option than to have allergy shots...once every week for the first 5 months...then once every month for the next 7 months...total of 1 year...see if it helps...

Sigh...but the good thing is...at least we know what causes it...at least we know...after September...小貓 should be better until next spring...and at least we know...cat and cat hair are not the major irritants... =)

In the picture...it shows how the doc tested 小貓...the doc marked her arm into a grid...then used different irritants to test the severity!!!!!

See the bumps??? They itch up in less than 5 seconds after the doc put on the irritant drops!!!! Allergy can be fatal!! The doc said...for a specialist like him...allergy irritant drops can be used to kill like a weapon!!! How scary!!!

I am especially touched when one of the judge said...this show was made exactly for someone like Paul Potts...

He has a great talent...but he was willing to keep on doing his ordinary job while having this dream inside his heart...he kept working on his talent and making improvements...not giving up...until one day...an opportunity came by...and BOOM!!!! Dream came true!!!

But if we take adventage of the checklists to communicate from now on...then would we soon forget how to speak to each other? Would we be talking to the "checklist" that sticks on the fridge instead?

Verbal communication is less "incovenient" and "in-efficient" than checklists...but a lot more human... =)

And most impressive of all, the little guy who was selling lemonade and soft drinks in his front yard after the fireworks. Talk about taking the opportunity whenever possible, heh? Such a talented business executive to-be... =)

盜版 vs. Download

The other day I was chatting with a fellow Christian about Wii...after waiting for a long time and thinking about the pros and cons...小蟲同小貓finally decide to buy the Wii...

小貓was asking this person about the game selections...what's worth to buy and what's fun to play...then this person told小貓...why buy when the games can be downloaded from the internet??? Immediately...小貓asked...don't you think it's the same as using "翻版"? Then that person answered...download jar ma...it's different from buying "翻版"!!!

I know this person is being kind trying to tell小貓about the good deals...but then the point is...this is not "good deal"...it's STEALING!!!!

Ever since I was taught about the "truth" of 翻版 & 盜版...I tried to share and convince bros and sis around me the same value...but then sadly...a lot of Christians would rather "rationalize" themselves with the act than to admit it's wrong and start making a difference!!!

I've heard people said things like this quote here posted by Yan Yan the Pig Farmer on a website:

"這是一個公民質素的問題。記得曾跟一班大學大專生談論有關用盜版軟件的問題時，竟有大學生跟我爭論使用盜版的合理性。其中一個論據是因為正版太貴，所以買盜版的錯不在用家，在製造商。我問他：你走入珠寶行，隨手拿了一顆鑽石就離去，店員喝止你時，你會轉頭對她說：「是你的鑽石賣得貴，我才擅自拿走」，合情合理嗎？他無言以對，最後只妥協於什麼「我尊重買正版的人。」但問題是，你會自重嗎？"

How can we say "download" is different from 翻版 & 盜版??? What's the difference? I guess the only difference is us "stealing in broad daylight" and us "asking someone to steal for us in the dark"...both are STEALING...and the later is even more wicked!!

I'm not saying that I'm better than anyone...it's really hard when I first started getting rid of the habit of buying 翻版 & 盜版...for us girls...it's not just CDs and games...we also have to fight翻版fashion items...for example my favourite...bags and purses!!! It's really hard to literally throw away a brand new 翻版LV purse when I know it is exactly the same as the real one...no one will notice!!!

But that's the key...we think "no one will notice"...what about our God?? So we think He is blind????

Guys and gals...I can tell you...once we get rid of the habit...it's no longer a big deal...once we have strict standards in our hearts...I don't even think about getting a 翻版bag...or download TVB drama...or PSP games...and I don't even think I'm turning down a "good deal" and being stupid...

I'm not stupid...I'm just doing the right thing...and if I don't have enough $$...then I simple wait until I save up to buy the real thing!!! =)

After a few years of 堅持...even people around me notice the difference...they may not agree...but at least they know my stand point...they know I'm not wishy-washy on my standards!!!

And even my mom knows and says to her sister (my YeeMa and YeeYee) who buy gifts for me...(although with very sarcastic tone in her voice)...my daughter is "ho bar bai" ga...she doesn't like to use翻版wor...so don't bother getting her all these good stuff lar (i.e. TVB drama set, purses, etc.)!!!

To 堅持and to make a difference in the wicked world...isn't that our calling from God? Say "NO" to 翻版&盜版這樣也做不到...then don't even mention 什麼為主傳福音!!!

Just a Little Bit Dead

If you are anything like me, you have probably caught yourself trying to make your own sin out to be something less than the big sins that everyone else commits. You know, the biggies that are in the Ten Commandments like murder, adultery, stealing, lying … stuff like that. Certainly I'm not that kind of sinner. No, I'm a minor sinner. When I sin, it's more like “sin lite.”

Thinking like this creates a ridiculous state of affairs when it comes to Christ dying for all our sins while we attempt to rationalize them. Sure I'm a sinner and all that, but my sins are mostly the private ones that don't hurt anyone else. Oh sure, they may not hurt anyone else but they killed Jesus! Let's think about that the next time we're considering one of those little private sins. Did Jesus die less for my little sins than for anyone else's? Did my sins only make Jesus die a little bit? If sin means missing the mark (which it does), by how much I miss it is a non-issue. No one's out there measuring how far we missed it by. We missed it. Line up for the death penalty. (Thank God, this is where Jesus comes in.)

When you’re dead, you're dead. I'm not a medical professional, but I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as being just a little dead. Yet try telling your rationalizations that. Look at the silly consequences we create whenever we try to rationalize the truth.

There is no such thing as a little sin. Sin is sin, and the wages of sin is death, says the Bible, “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) You can't any more sin a little than you can get a little eternal life. There is only one way this works: Sin, death, gift of God, and eternal life, in that order, and they're all big time – full strength. Whenever we sin, we sin big, and we die big; but Jesus died big time, so that God could give the gift of eternal life … and that's big too! That's forever! To belittle any one of these is to belittle the rest.

So if you ever catch yourself comparing your sin to others and trying to tell yourself that your sin is less significant, just remember Christ died for our sins, and there's never anything little about that!

No one can be just a little bit dead.

Last Sunday, a group of us WBC-er's had the chance to go out and serve other communities in the lower mainland. We believe it was God giving us the chance to prep ourselves for missionary trips in the future, if possible one day.

We had a great time leading praises, giving them our gifts of collected donations, and eating their traditional coconut chicken noodle soup. When different ethnic group, with different languages, at different ages, sing "Hallelujah" together, it was like heaven on earth!!!

失而復得

係大家禱告、精神、同行動上o既支持下，終於係尋日下午搵番小蟲家o既KingKong！

原來一家人齊齊整整o既感覺係o甘幸福o架！！小蟲同小貓終於有覺好o訓，而小貓亦唔駛慌失失，日日夜夜o掛住要搵番KingKong。

今次最大功勞就係阿爺爺，亦即係小蟲o既爸爸啦！

其實小蟲同小貓前日係屋企附近已經搵過四次，由早到晚，最後一次係半夜十二點，重出動埋laser pointer，希望隻曳貓見到會走出o黎，搵過所有lone-lone-lar-lar。而尋日上午亦已擴大搜索範圍，去到五個block以外o既neighborhood，但係都冇KingKong o既蹤影。

而且我地亦放o左dull餅餅同水係樓下patio，希望佢玩到肚餓會識路返屋企搵o野食。等o左成一日一夜，小蟲同小貓都開始有D覺得，KingKong係唔會返o黎o架啦，哎‧‧‧可能係俾人收養o左，或者係俾racoon同cayote食o左！>.<

點知尋日下午阿爺爺突然間打電話俾小蟲，話係屋企樓下o既樓梯底搵到KingKong！估唔到爺爺會o甘緊張、o甘o掛住KingKong，自己已經靜雞雞o黎搵過幾次，唔放心又再o黎搵，終於「皇天不負有心人」，俾爺爺搵到KingKong！

小蟲同小貓o拿o拿聲飛車番屋企，o甘o岩我地兩個尋日都係day off，先至可以係五分鐘之內返到屋企。小貓一見到KingKong，簡直係恍如隔世，抱實KingKong，死都唔放手。見到KingKong成身黑mung-mung，woo-jo-lad-tat，心痛到死！

返到屋企，蘇菲家姐用個鼻聞o下KingKong，confirm係佢之後，即刻幫佢lam毛沖涼，好鬼sweet！

而小蟲同小貓因為驚KingKong會有flea，亦唔埋佢反抗（當係佢曳曳o既懲罰），即刻用花灑同cat shampoo幫佢沖涼，不過當然過程就好似打仗o甘啦！而小蟲同小貓亦難免搞到傷痕累累，小貓連咀角都俾蘇菲家姐抓損埋。不過只要搵番KingKong，咩都冇所謂啦！

今次「失貓奇遇記」，最感動除o左係神聽禱告俾我地搵番KingKong之餘，當然係大家對小蟲家o既愛護同support啦！有Vicky姨姨即刻打o黎問駛唔駛幫手搵﹔又有Ada姨姨係plan婚禮o既百忙之中，話出動埋Windsor狗狗朋友仔幫手搵﹔又有Michelle姨姨o拿o拿聲幫我地post個missing notice上網﹔又有Peter仔叔叔越洋o既慰問﹔重有其他姨姨叔叔o既SMS，e-mail，同Facebook message。原來大家（包括阿公公婆婆、同阿爺爺麻麻）都當Sophie & KingKong係一家人o甘緊張、o甘o掛住！Thank you晒！！！

終於大團圓結局，開心晒！！！
